PURPOSE: A display device and a brightness control method thereof are provided to implement the time recognition of a user according to brightness variation by changing the brightness of the display device and a lighting device according to time change by program data of a control unit. CONSTITUTION: Current time data is delivered to a control unit(S10). The control unit compares the delivered current time data with preset program data(S20). In case the current time data is included within a program data range, a brightness control signal is delivered to the control unit. The control unit controls the brightness of a display device by the brightness control signal(S30).
