<p>An answering machine which, when a message in a foreign language is recorded, recognizes which language it is, inputs the received message phrase by phrase to a personal computer translation system to translate it, and sends the message that is translated into the mother tongue of the owner to the owner at a remote location. In view of the state of the art wherein some time is taken for translation, translation cannot be performed instantaneously, but the message in a foreign language recorded by the answering machine is translated using a sufficient period of time, and the translation is sent to the owner at a remote location.</p> |
