Rotary engine with improved control and combustion

For improving the combustion and for reducing the fuel consumption in the rotary engine, a piston without combustion recess is used, with as compact a combustion chamber as possible outside the trochoid. As a result, the bypass duct hitherto provided at the overlap dead centre is avoided and combustion improved by a compact combustion chamber. The absence of a bypass port avoids fresh gas losses at the overlap dead centre, whilst the compact combustion chamber outside the trochoid permits rapid combustion and better utilisation of the fuel residue at the end of the piston combustion chamber, when the latter is briefly open to the combustion chamber or to the trailing piston combustion chamber when the trailing peripheral seal brushes over the transfer port and the excess pressure of the leading piston combustion chamber scavenges the fuel to the trailing piston combustion chamber.
