A control method of a multi-type air conditioner is provided to correct the cooling performance of the multi-type air conditioner by changing refrigerant amount flowing in a heat exchanger in case the length of pipes connecting an outdoor unit and indoor units is different. A control method of a multi-type air conditioner comprises following steps. A plurality of indoor units controls the degree of overheating according to the inlet temperature of a corresponding heat exchanger(302). Periodically, the average of the inlet temperature of the heat exchanger is produced(303). Whether the average variance of the inlet temperature is below standard value or not is determined for standard time(304). The average the inlet temperature of the heat exchanger is produced if the average variance is below the standard value(305). The deviation of the inlet temperature of the heat exchanger is produced(307). The inlet temperature of the heat exchanger is changed into correction value(308). |
