PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a blue phase-1 liquid crystal is provided to obtain thermal stability of the blue phase-1 liquid crystal by controlling an elasticity constant of a host nematic liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a blue phase-1 liquid crystal comprises a step of controlling an elasticity constant to be the same as chemical formula 1: K_33/K_11 < 0.5, where K_33 is a bend Frank elasticity constant and K_11 is a splay Frank elasticity constant. The host nematic liquid is a liquid crystal with a shape selected from a rod-shape, a band-shape, a T-shape, or a mixed shape. The elasticity constant is controlled by adding 27-50 parts by weight of bent-core material to 100.0 parts by weight of host nematic liquid crystal.
