<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for manufacturing a film with a coating film capable of preventing stripes like wind ripples, stripes like strings, and surface roughness. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a coating device composed of a coating head 14 which coats with a coating liquid the surface of a continuously travelling band-shaped support (web) 11 and has a back-and-forth moving mechanism for moving back and forth between a coating position and a standby position, and a backup roller 13 for supporting the rear side of the coating surface of the band-shaped support, as well as a drying device 16 which has a casing installed immediately behind the coating device. The drying device 16 includes a wind shielding part 28 integrated with the casing which covers the end face side of the web 11 from the coating head 14 to drying device 16 and the rear side of the coating surface of the web 11, a movable cover 24 at least covering the coating surface side of the web 11 between the coating head 14 and the drying device 16, and a wind shielding plate 26 which is fixed to the coating head and covers the end surface side of the web 11 between the coating head 14 and the drying device 16 is arranged in the coating head 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
