PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device using a minimized linear light source is provided to provide an optimal stereoscopic image in the distance direction movement of a viewer by controlling a distance between an image display panel and a backlight panel. CONSTITUTION: An image display panel(310) includes multiple pixels. Backlight panels(510-530) includes multiple linear sources. The multiple light sources are arranged in a regular gap. The backlight panels are separated from one side of the image display panel. A distance control unit controls a distance between the backlight panels and the image display panel.
