PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for tracking a contour of a moving object, an apparatus for analyzing a myocardial motion, a method for tracking the contour of the moving object and a method for analyzing the myocardial motion, allowing accurate extraction of the contour of the moving object from a time sequence of a slice image.

SOLUTION: In this apparatus for tracking the contour of the moving object, a contour tracking part performs contour tracking in a first time direction and a second time direction to the time sequence of the slice image of the moving object, and acquires first contours and second contours of the respective slice images. A contour comparison part calculates a first similarity between the first contour and an initial contour in a prescribed slice image, and a second similarity between the second contour and the initial contour. A contour correction part sets the contour of each slice image obtained in the direction corresponding to a larger similarity of the first similarity and the second similarity as the contour of the moving object.
