<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision in detecting metal foreign matter present between an electricity transmission side and an electricity reception side. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of measurement of a Q value, the circuit configuration of a resonance circuit including at least a coil and a capacitor, which are included in an electricity transmitter or an electricity receiver included in a contactless power transmission system, is switched from the circuit configuration at the time of power feed, so that the electrostatic capacitance value of the electrostatic capacitance components parallel to the coil is increased.
