<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device of small size capable of reducing time and effort of assembly. <P>SOLUTION: The signal display lamp 1 as a light-emitting device comprises a light source 2, a cylindrical case 3, a circuit board unit 4 which constitutes a light source drive circuit for driving the light source 2, and a holder 5 which holds the circuit board unit 4 and is incorporated in the case 3. The circuit board unit 4 includes a first board 21 having a pair of main surfaces 23, 24 parallel to the axial direction X1 of the case 3 and a second board 22 which is electrically connected to the first board 21 and has a pair of main surfaces 25, 26 orthogonal to the axial direction X1 of the case 3. The holder 5 is composed of an electric insulation body and constitutes a light source drive unit 28 by holding the circuit board unit 4 to be integrated with it. The first board 21 is arranged between the central axis line 19 of the case 3 and the inner surface 35 of the case 3.
