<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera module capable of realizing multiple imaging functions with a simple and compact configuration. <P>SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a camera module includes an imaging lens, an image sensor 13, a variable diaphragm 12, a signal processing unit 45, and a control driver 47. The variable diaphragm 12 adjusts the amount of light to be transmitted to the image sensor 13 side by switching the transmission and shielding of light that has been made incident from the imaging lens for each region. The control driver 47 controls the driving of the image sensor 13 and the driving of the variable diaphragm 12. The variable diaphragm 12 varies at least one of the areas and positions of transmission regions for transmitting the light. The control driver 47 adjusts imaging timing by the image sensor 13.
