<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile object length measuring instrument capable of detecting a range of mobile object length even in stop by using an object detection sensor installed on the side of a mobile object, and a train service management system using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile object length measuring instrument has object detection sensors at least at three or more parts, distances between sensor positions are arranged so as to become two large and small distances, pieces of the minimum and the maximum length of mobile object length are estimated, distances between sensor installation positions are arranged so that the larger distance becomes larger than the maximum estimated mobile object length or the smaller distance becomes equal to or less than the minimum estimated mobile object length, instantaneous velocity in entrance to and leaving from a sensor detection section, or average velocity during travel in the detection section is estimated, the pieces of the minimum and maximum length of the mobile object length are estimated by using at least one of the instantaneous velocity, the average velocity, the maximum acceleration, the maximum deceleration, and the maximum velocity, a train service management system estimates train length by using the mobile object length measuring instrument, and displays a train existence range to a picture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
