<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique enabling suppression of luminance unevenness and color unevenness regardless of a direction of a screen in an image display device capable of changing the direction of the screen. <P>SOLUTION: A backlight device of an image display device capable of changing a direction of a screen comprises: a plurality of light sources capable of independently controlling emission for each of a plurality of divided light source blocks; storage means for storing unevenness correction data set so as to limit the luminance of each light source block within a predetermined allowable range to a target luminance for each direction of the screen and used for determining a drive signal of the light source of each light source block; acquisition means for obtaining a direction of the screen; and control means for determining a drive signal of the light source of each light source block using an unevenness correction data corresponding to a direction of the screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
