<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fluorine-containing polymer with high Tg, high transparency, and low hygroscopicity, a production method thereof, a resin composition containing the polymer, and an optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: This fluorine-containing polymer represented by formula (1a) is obtained by polymerizing a compound represented by formula (a) with a compound represented by formula (b), a resin composition containing the polymer. And an optical fiber consisting of the resin composition containing the polymer is provided.
