<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of decreasing the size thereof and a glossing method. <P>SOLUTION: A MFP (Multi Function Peripheral) as an image forming apparatus comprises: a fixation part for forming a fixed image on a recording sheet; a thermal head 91 for changing glossiness of the image formed in the fixation part by heating the image formed in the fixation part; and a pressure roller 92 for relatively moving the recording sheet with respect to the thermal head 91.
