<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy of a sensor by suppressing variations in the intensity of a bias magnetic field while securing the intensity of the bias magnetic field for a magnetoresistive element. <P>SOLUTION: A mold molding process in a conventional magnetic sensor using a mold IC is abolished by implementing a sensor chip 3 provided with a magnetoresistive element as a bare chip onto a substrate 2, in order to eliminate a variation factor in a relative position between the sensor chip 3 and a magnet 5 based on mold molding. By bonding the magnet 5 that gives a bias magnetic field to the magnetoresistive element to the substrate 2, a higher conductivity magnet 5 can be used compared with a conventional magnetic sensor that implements the sensor chip 3 on the magnet 5.
