摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fatigue strength of a welded joint by introducing compressive residual stress into a welded structure by performing peening treatment. <P>SOLUTION: There is disclosed a striking treatment method in which peening treatment is performed by pressing a striking tool 1 against the vicinity of the toe of a weld bead 5 and moving the tool 1 in the direction of a weld line. In the striking treatment method, the striking tool is attached to a peening tool 2 which is slidable in a direction vertical to the body of the striking treatment apparatus, the peening tool is attached to the striking treatment apparatus through a press spring. When the striking treatment apparatus is not pressed down in the vertical direction, the tip of the striking tool is projected with the press spring, from a plane formed from a member for moving the base part of the striking treatment apparatus and a member for moving on a side where the striking tool of the striking treatment apparatus is provided is floated from the surface of a metallic material 8 and, when operating the striking treatment, the tip of the striking tool is made flush with the plane formed from the member for moving, by pressing the striking treatment apparatus down in the vertical direction, and thus such a state is formed that the striking tool presses the surface of the metallic material of the base material down, and the striking treatment apparatus is moved in the direction of a weld line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
