IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, METHOD, COMPUTER PROGRAM AND CHIP CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device capable of reducing noises overlapped with an image while preventing frequency components of the image from being eccentric to low-frequency components.

SOLUTION: The image processing device includes: a first calculation section that calculates a first multiplication coefficient used for noise smoothing processing by using a monotonously decreasing function according to the magnitude of the difference in pixel values on each of given target pixels and reference pixels; a second calculation section that calculates a second multiplication coefficient used for noise smoothing processing by using a random number on each target pixel and reference pixel; a product sum operation section that multiplies the first multiplication coefficient, the second multiplication coefficient and the pixel value on each target pixel and reference pixel to obtain the sum of the multiplication results; a coefficient summing section that multiplies the first multiplication coefficient and the second multiplication coefficient on each target pixel and reference pixel to obtain the sum of the multiplication results; a division section that divides the sum obtained by the product sum operation section by the sum obtained by the coefficient summing section; and an output section that outputs the division result.
