<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to set start times suitable for operation of a server system comprising a plurality of servers in a decentralized manner while suppressing introduction costs and operation costs. <P>SOLUTION: A server is configured to enable a controller to set its start reference time and its start time range. The server randomly determines shift time by generating random numbers in the set start time range, and sets time which is obtained by shifting the set start reference time by the determined shift time, as a start time. Then, in a shutdown state, the server operates to start itself as the time of an RTC reaches the start time. These functions are implemented in a BIOS. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
