<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a file system without duplexing data with an inexpensive configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A file management device 1 includes a controller (a backup manager 100) that executes backup processing and reboot processing. In the backup processing, a non-volatile storage area 30 holding management information containing the file name and write data of an opened file is secured and management information is stored in the non-volatile storage area 30 when a data write request is received from outside.
