<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve bus efficiency of reference image acquisition in detecting a motion vector in a multistep motion search system. <P>SOLUTION: An encoding object image is stored in a frame buffer (101), and a reference image acquired by local decoding is stored in a reference frame buffer (114). A motion search part (102a) compares the encoding object image with the reference image to detect a motion vector at low accuracy. A vector relative position calculation part (103) calculates a relative position between the motion vectors of blocks for continuous processing from motion vector information of a first step by the motion search part (102a). A reading control part (104) reads all of the reference images of the blocks by one access when the relative position between the motion vectors is in a range for improving the bus efficiency, and independently read the images otherwise. The motion search part (102b) detects the motion vector from the encoding object image and the reference image at high accuracy with the motion vector position of the first step as a reference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
