LITHOGRAPHIC INK AND PRINTED MATERIAL THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic ink which uses a resin excellent in production stability and is good in printing suitability, and to provide a printed material having good coating film properties.

SOLUTION: The lithographic ink includes a rosin-modified phenolic resin (B) produced by reacting a rosin (a), a novolak-resol type phenolic resin (b) and a multi-hydric alcohol (c) in the presence of a solvent (A) having a boiling point of ≥200°C, wherein the rosin (a) is contained in an amount of ≤37 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the total solid of the rosin (a) and the novolak-resol type phenolic resin (b). The novolak-resol type phenolic resin (b) is produced by subjecting a phenol compound and an aldehyde compound to a novolak-producing reaction in the presence of an acidic catalyst and further subjecting to a resol-producing reaction in the presence of a basic catalyst.
