<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recommend an application which is suitable for the situation of a user including time and place and which would appeal to the user. <P>SOLUTION: A recommendation device estimates the situation of a user on the basis of information obtained from various sensors, and estimates the user's preference on the basis of history information obtained from a history database which stores at least history information on each user and is connected via a network.
