<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide easily soluble molybdenum trioxide having high solubility in a solution such as a multicomponent mixed solution. <P>SOLUTION: When a multicomponent mixed solution is formed by dissolving the easily soluble molybdenum trioxide with at least one metal compound selected from the group consisting of an oxide, nitrate, sulfate, carbonate and inorganic composite acid chloride and/or an organic acid compound in a solvent, the multicomponent mixed solution has high clarity. Since the solubility is high, for example, when it is used as a raw material for the multicomponent mixed solution used for producing a desulfurization catalyst etc., the easily soluble molybdenum trioxide can be dissolved at a high concentration in the multicomponent mixed solution.
