<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of efficiently cooling an object to be cooled. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1A for projecting an image comprises: a light source device 31; an optical modulator 33 for modulating a light beam emitted from the light source device 31; a projection optical device 35 for projecting the light beam modulated; and a cooling device 4A for cooling a predetermined object to be cooled. The cooling device 4A is provided with a plurality of heat pipes 42 along a projecting direction, P direction, of the light beam by the projection optical device 35. Each of the plurality of heat pipes 42 has: a heat receiving section to which heat generated in the object to be cooled is transmitted; and a heat radiator to which the heat transmitted to the heat receiving section is transmitted. The plurality of heat pipes 42 includes: a first heat pipe 421 in which the heat radiator is positioned at a projecting direction leading end side with respect to the heat receiving section; and a second heat pipe 422 in which the heat radiator is positioned at a projecting direction base end side with respect to the heat receiving section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
