<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device that can realize high color reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: An organic EL device has a substrate 11, a color filter layer 20 formed on the substrate 11, a first electrode 13 formed between the substrate 11 and the color filter layer 20, a second electrode 14 formed opposite to the first electrode 13, and an organic light emitting layer 15 formed between the first electrode 13 and the second electrode 14. The color filter layer 20 has a first sub-filter layer 21 and a second sub-filter layer 22 formed in a region overlaid on the first electrode 13 when seen from a direction vertical to the substrate 11, and permeating a first color.
