<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device of an internal combustion engine capable of improving the output and fuel economy of the internal combustion engine by increasing a combustion speed of a mixture in a combustion chamber. <P>SOLUTION: The ignition device includes an ignition plug 7 with an electrode 7a for electric discharge arranged so as to face in the combustion chamber 6, a plurality of fuseheads 8 with insulating protrusions 8a and current-carrying parts 8b on their respective surfaces for generating ignition by the electric discharge between the adjacent respective current-carrying parts 8b, 8b, and a cage 9 retaining the plurality of the fuseheads 8 at least in ignition so as to exist in the combustion chamber 6. In the ignition, the ignition by the electric discharge is generated between the electrode 7a of the ignition plug 7 and the current-carrying part 8b of the fusehead 8A nearest to the electrode. Furthermore, the ignition by the electric discharge is generated between the current-carrying parts 8b, 8b of the adjacent fuseheads 8, 8 among the plurality of fuseheads 8 in connection with the electric discharge, and moreover, in a scattered state in the combustion chamber 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
