<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient earphone and headphone capable of attaining miniaturization. <P>SOLUTION: An earphone 20L comprises speaker units 40 and 41 for reproducing sound and a housing 30. The housing 30 includes spaces 35 and 36 for storing the speaker units 40 and 41 and openings 35a and 36a leading from the spaces 35 and 36 to the outside. Thus, different sound sources to be output from the speaker units 40 and 41 are transmitted to the ear of a user without mutual interference. Consequently, the earphone 20L is miniaturized while reproducing stereoscopic sound. Besides, the portability of the earphone 20L is improved by the miniaturization and also portability is improved in a headphone having the earphone 20L.
