<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device capable of suppressing generation of a filming phenomenon on a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: An image formation device includes: a rotating image carrier; toner image formation means for using toner to develop an electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the image carrier to form a toner image; primary transfer means for transferring the toner image formed by the toner image formation means onto the surface of an intermediate transfer body that moves in the same direction as the image carrier at a position in contact with the image carrier; and secondary transfer means for transferring the toner image on the intermediate transfer body onto a recording material. The surface of the intermediate transfer body in contact with the image carrier is composed of an organic-inorganic hybrid material obtained by mixing a radical polymerizable monomer with inorganic fine particles to polymerize the radical polymerizable monomer. The surface hardness of the surface of the intermediate transfer body subjected to a nano-indentation method is larger than that of the surface of the image carrier.
