<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of diagnosing insulation capable of precisely evaluating deterioration degree and life of the insulation system of a stator coil whose mica layer is fixed by resin by focusing changes in a partial discharge charge amount. <P>SOLUTION: A voltage applied to the stator coil of a rotary machinery is continuously increased or decreased and pattern information on a partial discharge charge amount to the applied voltage is obtained.
