<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system having excellent optical performance, an optical device having the optical system, and a method for manufacturing the optical system. <P>SOLUTION: An optical system OS used for a camera 1 or the like comprises, in order from an object side: a first lens group G1 having a positive refractive power; a second lens group G2 having a positive refractive power; and a third lens group G3 having a positive refractive power. The second lens group G2 has an aperture stop S and a front group G2F comprising at least one lens disposed at the object side of the aperture stop S and having a positive refractive power.
