<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission which simplifies component fabrication, component management, and assembly work, allows cost reduction easily, and stabilizes transmission operation. <P>SOLUTION: The toroidal type continuously variable transmission is configured as follows. A communicating hole 38 is formed in such a way that a side tilt axis 8a composing a trunnion 7b and a drive rod 30a are communicated with each other in axial direction; a connecting rod 40 with a cap 41 fixed in one end and a precession cam 31a fixed in the another end is inserted into an inner side of the communicating hole 38 so as to be axially displaceable; the precession cam 31a is supported in a section leaning to a tip of the drive rod 30a so as to be axially displaceable but not circumferentially displaceable; and a tip surface of cap 41 is elastically pressed to a peripheral surface of outer race 16a by utilizing an elastic force of compressed coil spring 45 arranged between a retaining ring 46 retained to the drive rod 30a and the precession cam 31a; and axial displacement of the outer race 16a can be directly measured by this composition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
