<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal object detector for stabilizing lines of magnetic force and improving detection accuracy of a metallic object mixed with sediment without being affected by metal objects around the detector. <P>SOLUTION: The metal object detector 1 includes: a belt conveyor 10 having a base frame 12 which rotatably supports a belt 11; a frame body 20 which is attached to the base frame 10 and where an opening part 23 letting the belt 11 in is formed; an excitation member 30 and a detection coil 40 attached to the frame body 20; and a power detector 50 for detecting electromotive force generated in the detection coil 40. Magnetic substances are used for the base frame 12 and the frame body 20. The excitation member 30 generates a magnetostatic field M1 in an area including the base frame 12 and the frame body 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
