<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cutoff valve capable of increasing capacity of a fuel tank by reducing dead space within the fuel tank. <P>SOLUTION: The cutoff valve 10 is provided with a housing 12 arranged in the gas phase part 28 of the fuel tank 26 while having a float chamber 43, and a float valve 14 accommodated vertically movably in the float chamber 43. The housing 12 has a communication hole 40 opened to the lower part of the float chamber 43, a vaporized fuel flow-out hole 32 opened to the upper wall part 31 of the float chamber 43, and a vent hole 35 opened to a sidewall part 30 of the float chamber 43. The float valve 14 has a valve body 50 and a valve part 51 that closes the vaporized fuel flow-out hole 32. The valve body 50 of the float valve 14 is made flattened in shape, with its buoyancy point 14F of the float valve 14 being positioned at a location higher than the intermediate position of the height of the valve body 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
