<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when the total amount of toner exceeds a specified value, a conventional image forming apparatus adjusts the total amount of toner by reducing a deposit of chromatic toner and in that case, the density of an image to be formed is deteriorated according to the reduced amount of chromatic toner. <P>SOLUTION: When the total amount of toner exceeds a specified value, the image forming apparatus determines a transfer bias from an overlapped range where a predetermined range of a transfer bias for transferring a toner whose total amount is a maximum value and a predetermined range of a transfer bias for transferring a toner whose total amount is a minimum value are overlapped. Therefore, even when the total amount exceeds the specified value, a toner image can be transferred at the determined transfer bias without reducing the amount of toner so as to prevent deterioration in the image density caused by the reduced amount of toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
