<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To know the position of an excavator on a slope of the ground under water with any transparency in the water, to confirm that the excavator is at a predetermined position of design on the slope when the slope is excavated, and to accurately excavate the slope by the excavator. <P>SOLUTION: The method of excavating the slope of the ground under the water includes: arranging a pedestal at a position on the ground at a distance from the slope; placing the excavator on the pedestal; lifting the pedestal on which the excavator is placed from a position above the ground and lowering the pedestal on the slope; measuring the position of the excavator on the slope; displaying the position of the excavator on the slope on a monitor based upon a result of the measurement; and excavating the slope by the excavator while monitoring the position of the excavator displayed on the monitor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
