<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out autofocus control without deteriorating visual quality of a live view image even when photographing a subject with movement in an imaging apparatus allowing autofocus control. <P>SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus including an exchange lens 100 and a camera body 200 capable of mounting the exchange lens, a lens control section 106 transmits information stored to a storing section 108 for storing information regarding the characteristics of the exchange lens 100 to a body control section 204.
