<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the decrease of focus detection accuracy while properly controlling an exposure amount by properly performing diaphragm control. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus to and from which a lens unit including a focus lens and a diaphragm for adjusting an incident light quantity can be attached and detached includes imaging means for photoelectrically converting a subject image to generate an image signal, generation means for generating a focus signal based on the contrast of the image signal, focus detection means for detecting a focusing direction on the basis of the focus signal while minutely vibrating the attached focus lens, and control means for allowing the imaging means to periodically accumulate a charge and controlling the focus detection means so as not to detect the focusing direction by using the focus signal obtained by the charge accumulation when the imaging means accumulates the charge during the drive of the diaphragm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
