<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carbon fiber bundle efficiently without reducing a carbonization yield. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing a carbon fiber bundle, including a flameproofing step, a pre-carbonization step and a carbonization step as defined in the specification, comprises: setting density of a flame-resistant fiber bundle to 1.32-1.38 g/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>by the flameproofing step; and further having a pre-pre-carbonization step between the flameproofing process and the pre-carbonization process, for heating the flame-resistant fiber bundle until the density of the flame-resistant fiber bundle reaches 1.42-1.49 g/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, while keeping a temperature of the flame-resistant fiber bundle at 400°C or lower by bringing a heated inert gas into contact with the flame-resistant fiber bundle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
