<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair pedestal that prevents the vertical positional displacement of an optional member and also prevents a display part provided on the outer peripheral surface of the chair pedestal from being worn out by the optional member. <P>SOLUTION: The chair pedestal 4 in which the optional member 18 can be attached to the outer peripheral surface of the chair pedestal, includes: a plurality of engagement grooves 13 facing the horizontal direction which are arranged on the outer peripheral surface, and which can be selectively and vertically engaged with the optional member 18; and a recessed groove 12 facing the vertical direction which is arranged in a portion where the engagement grooves 13 are not formed on the outer peripheral surface.
