<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for controlling the number of compressors that has a simple configuration and is capable of quickly producing compressed air in accordance with the use load of compressed air. <P>SOLUTION: The system for controlling the number of compressors is provided with: a plurality of compressors 2; a receiver tank 3 for receiving compressed air supplied by these compressors 2, and sending the compressed air to an apparatus that uses compressed air; a pressure sensor 4 positioned in the receiver tank 3; and a number controller 5 for changing the number of operating compressors 2 on the basis of the pressure detected by the pressure sensor 4. A number-decreasing pressure, which serves as the boundary value for determining whether the number controller 5 is to decrease the number of operating compressors, is set at an increasingly lower pressure as the number of operating compressors increases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
