<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device and method capable of performing accurate positioning and transfer, even when a transfer object is a heavy object, while simplifying and miniaturizing the transfer device. <P>SOLUTION: The transfer device includes: a fixed fork 2 fixed to a moving truck 11; an intermediate fork 3 slidably supported by the fixed fork 2; a tip end fork 4 slidably supported by the intermediate fork 3; and an engaging means 5 which is arranged at the tip end fork 4 and can be engaged with a pallet P supporting an article A on a mounting base. The tip end fork 4 is moved from the rear end to the front end of the intermediate fork 3 while the intermediate fork 3 is moved from a retracted position at which the pallet P is pulled in on a loading platform 11a to an extension position at which the pallet P is pushed in on the mounting base, and the intermediate fork 3 is turned to the state of being projected from the rear end of the moving truck 11 or the fixed fork 2 when moved to the retracted position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
