<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermoelectric element that can prevent detachment of metal coating such as plating when the thermoelectric element is manufactured from a base material made of a thermoelectric material. <P>SOLUTION: A plate material 11 that is a base material made of a thermoelectric material is diced to form a groove 13, and then metal coatings 5 and 7 are formed so that the metal coatings 5 and 7 are not detached during dicing. Thus, the metal coatings 5 and 7 are securely formed on the surface and a part of the side of the thermoelectric element 1 separated from the plate material 11. Accordingly, when a thermoelectric module 23 for thermoelectric generation and electronic cooling is manufactured, or more specifically when the thermoelectric element 1 is jointed to an electrode 21 of a ceramic substrate 19 by a solder material 25, wettability of the solder material 25 can be improved and components contained in a solder material 25 are prevented from spreading into the thermoelectric material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
