<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent decline of chroma caused by a transmitted image and to keep the image quality with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: Color assisting panels 106R, 106G and 106B are provided between a main light source portion 104 and an image display panel 102 with a specific image as an object. A depression 110 matching the specific image is previously formed in each color assisting panel, and the bottom of the depression 110 is a lens part formed in the shape of a right-angled rectangle. Light output from a red light emitting light source array 108R, light output from a green light emitting light source array 108G, and light output from a blue light emitting light source array 108B are made incident to thick-wall surfaces of the color assisting panels 106R, 106G and 106B respectively, and the incident lights are refracted in the lens parts to be assist lights for the specific images. As a result, the vividness liable to be easily impaired can be assisted in a transmitted and displayed image by the light from the main light source part 104, and even if the image has a large quantity of ink, for example, as a deep-tone image, the quantity of light matching the quantity of ink can be applied, and therefore, the brightness can be retained on the whole, and the vividness can be restored. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
