<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of remarkably lowering the height. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical scanner, a scanning optical system is arranged between two polygon mirrors (2104A and 2104B) with respect to the X-axis direction, and has four polarization beam splitters (S1, S2, S3 and S4), three scanning lenses (L1, L2 and L3), two dichroic mirrors (D1 and D2), two quarter wave plates (W1 and W3), and two three-quarter wave plates (W2 and W4). Each of four light fluxes which have been deflected by the respective polygon mirrors moves in the same plane orthogonal to the Z-axis direction, and then moves toward a corresponding photoreceptor drum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
