<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate the uneven density of a recorded image resulting from the difference of uneven temperature distribution which occurs in each nozzle array during single scan. <P>SOLUTION: The recording head includes a substrate 1, a plurality of nozzle arrays 2, and at least one common liquid chamber 3 extending in the direction along the nozzle array 2. The nozzle array 2 is configured by arranging a plurality of nozzles each having a discharge port 7 for discharging liquid, a foaming chamber 4 communicating with the discharge port 7, and a thermoelectric conversion element 5 provided in the foaming chamber 4 and generating heat for discharging the liquid. Each nozzle array 2 is disposed in the region of the substrate 1 between the common liquid chambers 3 adjoining each other, or any unit region defined by the region of the substrate 1 between the common liquid chamber 3 and the edge of the substrate 1. The smaller the heat capacity of the unit region, the larger the ratio of the opening area of the discharge port 7 of nozzles at both ends of the nozzle array 2 disposed in the unit region to the opening area of the discharge port 7 of a nozzle in the central portion of the nozzle array 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
