<p>An outfeed unit of a cigarette packer comprises a channel (4) along which packets (3) are conveyed in a row (5), arranged one beside another and advancing in a given feed direction (F), a printing device (26) by which selected markings are applied to each packet (3) at a first position (25) along the channel (4), and a monitoring device (21) comprising a device (23) able to identify the exact location of each packet (3) at a second position (22) along the channel (4), upstream of the print position (25); the printing device (26) is interlocked operatively to the monitoring device (21), and the sensing device (23) is a high accuracy analogue distance sensor (24) such as will generate signals indicating the discontinuities at the areas of contact (29) between one packet and the next.</p> |
