<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide suitable for transparent substrates used for flexible displays, solar batteries or touch panels and having excellent transparency, high mechanical strength and a small coefficient of thermal linear expansion. <P>SOLUTION: The polyimide obtained by reacting a diamine derivative (including diamines and their derivatives) with a tetracarboxylic acid derivatives (including tetracarboxylic acids and their derivatives) is characterized in that the diamine derivatives include diamine derivatives not having aromatic rings and having light transmittances of ≥90%, or diamine derivatives having aromatic rings and having light transmittances of ≥80%; and the tetracarboxylic acid derivatives include tetracarboxylic acid derivatives having light transmittances of ≥75%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
