<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical equipment for observation capable of suppressing a frame rate required by an image display section as well as carrying out super-multi-eye display presenting a plurality of parallax images to a single eye of an observer by obtaining a wide angle. <P>SOLUTION: The optical equipment for observation for making a plurality of parallax images incident on one of the eyes includes: an opening forming means (6) with a variable region to which the opening is formed; an image display means (1) for displaying the plurality of parallax images in time series; signal synchronizing means (4, 9, 7, 8) synchronizing with the opening forming means; a control means (7) for controlling the region on which the opening is formed in the opening forming means and the width in the horizontal region of the opening on the basis of signals from the signal synchronizing means; and line of sight detection means (10 to 12) for detecting the line of sight of the observer.
