<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external apparatus, a camera system, an image pickup method, and a program which can accept various user manipulations without requiring firmware updating of an existing camera body or introduction of a new camera body. <P>SOLUTION: The camera system comprises: a lens manipulation data storage unit 309a which stores therein manipulation information which includes manipulation image data corresponding to the type of manipulation of an interchangeable lens device 3 and a display region in which the manipulation image data is shown by a display unit 211, and operation information concerning the operation of the interchangeable lens device 3 according to the type of manipulation; and a lens control unit 312 which exerts control for displaying a manipulation image corresponding to the manipulation image data on the display unit 211, and which, when touch position information is received from a main body unit 2 while the display unit 211 is showing a manipulation image, exerts drive control of the interchangeable lens device 3 on the basis of operation information which is determined by the touch position information and the manipulation information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
